Love On The Island Poem by Karl Newton

Love On The Island

Summer holiday
Off to our island in the sea
A place of peace and beauty
And a fondness in the heart
Of both you and me

Wondering round a once great Queens home
Seeing the gardens of slender
And the private beach
Seeing beautiful historic beauty spots
Some of which we took daring rides off cliff sides to
A fun little trip out to the zoo
The chine by night
Illuminated in its beauty
A trip to a model village
So stunning in every little detail
A game of crazy golf
You got a hole in one
Pumping loads of money into the grabbers
Trying to win a cuddly toy
Chips and ice cream by the sea
At one point
Me on bended knee
A sincere question from me to you
To marry me
To be my rock
For now until eternity
A holiday I wish could last forever
But it was soon over
Time for a car ride home
Sucking on mints
Whilst you sing all the lyrics wrong
In your own special way
Just promise me one thing
You will go left
Not right
We don't need
Another
Scenic route
