Love On Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Love On

If I ever have a baby girl,
I'd tell her to be cautious,
And when she would ask,
I'll tell her exactly why,

People die
Just by crossing the street,
A drunk driver won't stop for nothing,
You have to know right from wrong,
Because there's no going back,

If I have a baby Boy,
I'd tell him to protect his loved ones,
And when he would ask,
I'd tell him why,

Because people won't stop,
They will scratch and claw at your very heart,
There won't be a day without tears,
There's nothing you can do to save a life,
But there is one thing we all can do,

Protect your loved ones,
Don't let them slip away,
Follow when they walk away,
Stop when they kneel down,
Listen when they break down,
And talk when they have nothing to say,

If I have a baby girl,
I'll tell her to love infinitely,
Because her love is the cure
To making the world brighter,

If I have a baby boy,
I'd tell him to not give up,
Because perseverance is the key
To the ability of mankind,
