Love's Drug Poem by Heidi Wiggin

Love's Drug

Rating: 3.2

Luv is a drug
It feels like a hard slug
In the gut
Sewin my heart shut
Teachin me to never let any one in
Not carin when I sin
Tearin me up inside
Needin some one to confide
But to afraid to talk
I wanna be alone so I walk
To some place familiar
Not knowin what Im lookin for
Wantin some thin new
But wantin the old too
So I find a way to get away
Something easy to to say
To help the hurt
And to hide the blood on the sleeves of my shirt
I say 'I love you'
And you say 'I love you too'
neither of us means it
Just a bunch of bull sh*t
But it sounds good
Just like it should
Makes us smile
For atleast a lil while
Til the lie's high wears off
And we're even worse off
So we say it again
And this time we try to believe it if we can
We fall into the sluggish high
Of love's drug 'Hi'

I guess I just don't see the negatives in this that others do. The clarity is key for me, and it is there. So the meaning is transferred easily. GW62

I agree, with 'The Hawk' man down below... love usually breaks people, its sad and horrible, but then love makes people too, it mostly breaks me though: ( good write x3, mill
