Love Story (7) (Old Love Never Fades) Poem by U Win Kyi

Mr Lee and Miss Kuan were good neighbors.
As children they played together.
In mainland China, Shang Dong province,
was where they lived.
When they grew up as adult.
They married as 1st love.
3 years after marriage, he joined KMT Nationalist Army,
to fight in Civil War and invading Japanese enemy.
His troop was retreated to Taiwan island,
and he was separated from wife since then.
She gave birth to a son,
But to Taiwan she could not come.
Taiwan and Mainland were arch enemy,
two countries with different system and ideology.
Lee and Kuan both remarried.
With new spouses they happily lived.
In 1993, with her, he got contact.
He wanted to bring her back.
They started to exchange photos,
with a long story retold and retold.
At that time both of their spouses were dead..
They were as free as flying birds.
In 2007, to Taiwan, he brought back his wife,
to spend the twilight of his life.
They remarried again,
but it was not the same.
He is now 92 years old.
She is now 85 years old.
So old of age
but for love sake,
a difference it doesn't make,
as old love never fade.
though separated for more than 6 decades.
They are young at heart,
for reunion of 1st love,
until death it will last.
