Loveless Poem by Tui Goodwin

Loveless

Rating: 5.0

As I lay still, awake at night,
Your silent figure lies in my sight,
So close yet I feel separated,
It seems our meeting was not fated.

Every enjoyment ends in argument,
In love is not how time is spent,
Your eyes are cold pools of distain,
Constantly causing me pain.

Harsh words said in raised voice,
I sit in silence, I have no choice,
It’s my fault I can’t compute,
The rest of my life I live in mute.

I feel the end but can’t turn away,
Pain feels like home so on I stay,
I hope that I do not fade,
and no longer feel betrayed.

'I feel the end but can’t turn away, / Pain feels like home so on I stay, / I hope that I do not fade, / Living in hope that someday I will no longer feel betrayed.' What emotional lines, interesting to read. What hope is there in what is hopeless? After all one is indulging in more pain for betting on a hope that has no future.

me gusta la mal vida... its a spanish saying...for people who love troubled lives, sometimes it can entrap us, and we can't escape its grasp...Its sad that love at times is just exactly that. wonderful poem
