Lover Poem by bob barci

Lover

Lover,
pay attention
to me here.
With all the words that I write,
these words are yours.
There's so much
I'd like to say,
where do I begin?
Right from the start
my gut told me
that this was it –
the real thing.
Loving you at any time
lands me in the clouds.
Loving you at any time
just doesn't seem enough.
Lover?
Can you hear me?
Hear me loud and clear.
This ain't no lie,
not even a put-on.
I'm not running off at the mouth when I say –
loving you has no bounds.
Somewhat scary,
yet so very secure.
So secure with you, am I,
I want you every second of every day.

Lover,
these words are yours.
Yours and yours alone.
Lover,
remember all the days of your life,
I love you immensely.
