Machine Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Machine

She left you and you cried to me
with a heart broken on the floor
barely pumping,
I can sense you’re hardly breathing.

I wish I could do something
to ease you off your pain
but these oceans and lands
are right in between us.

This mere, cold machine
is what connects you to me
but it’s left me sitting here
wishing I was there right next to you
