Mad? Poem by Long Tooth

Mad?

Be glad! You have your life to live; there's poetry to share,
as evolution gives us words, and some have minds that hear.
Accoutrements can touch the hearts of strangers (though we fear
a countenance that's new to us) . Is strangeness fault or charm?
A risk exists (in sought reward) , but goals not reached don't harm!
Experience is gain worth trust the times we dare to dare!

Be glad! Yes, friends may disappoint, though colors get revealed,
what's broken (mended)has new strength in ways that can surprise.
When time inclines, forgive! As blinders fail, you've widened eyes!
To lose a friend can feel a curse (without ascribing blame) ,
but if fault's there (It's yours? It's theirs?) , humility's the aim
of one who'd live in LOVE, pride cannot live concealed!

Be glad! Know madness is a choice that you don't have to make!
Let love for others (not for gain) be how you spend your time
and trust the seeds you plant this way will wonders grow that I'm
not competent to share or know or judge that you deserve!
But mercy shown, not sacrifice, Christ says, implies the curve
that heaven's gates will grade us by, and pride a sad mistake!
