Magnificent New York Poem by Atthis Rose

Magnificent New York

This Gargantuan teeming Behemoth
The Hudson’s overbearing strident Colossus
Stalking, stomping, swaggering every which way
Seizing, enveloping and grasping all within its inexorable sprawl
Trump’s Monumental Megapolis of a thousand hills,
Burgeoning skywards as if in phallic adoration to the gods of
Virility, money and power

This Bombastic, self-confident, haughty Juggernaut
this Brash, brazen, bustling Metropolis
Rife with Bohemian flair and Corinthian decadence
Wrapping its seductive arms like a wily strumpet around the wise and the unwary
Residents and visitors alike, tempting all within the breadth of her compass;
like Ulysses’ sirens, she sings in her best come hither voice:
for all to come and take a bite of her Big Apple

Yes this Exuberant, boisterous, energetic Dynamo
The Crossroads of the World overflowing with the tide of
Ambitious humanity; rushing, jostling and striving
to win that race in which every man woman and child have been destined to run since the dawn of time. This Vibrant, electric, pulsating Cosmopolis
of seething millions brewing in a melting pot of people, habits and ideas
forged in a common mass in Glory to the Greatness of Man
