Maisie Jayne Poem by Michael John Cook

Maisie Jayne

A beautiful stare
Wondering not judging
Give her a smile
She takes it all in
Then smiles right back
The fascination in her eyes
A world full of firsts
So many doting followers
So many faces to remember
The humbling moment
A lasting recognition
A chance to influence
The real trust begins
A teacher and role model,
To become and enjoy
Her enchanting laugh
Her unbridled faith
Tiny hands take a hold
My heart won with ease
A lifetime of protection,
For a beautiful girl
And the joy of inclusion,
For an old lucky friend
Precious little person
With a bright future ahead
