Mama Africa Poem by kennedy john

Mama Africa

Oh, mama Africa
The beauty of your land is inevitable
In nature thou art incomparable
nor yon offspring of thee
tallies in strength and beauty.
Oh, what a villianous act.
A waspsting and quite enigma.
In full moon thy offspring gone.
Taken to the unknown land, chained,
bashed and worked unremittedly.
Oh, what a crying shame.
The heaviness in my heart
raineth ocean and can hardly
behold thy face.
Hungry and thirsty thou await
thy children. Oh, look at her
her pride and beauty tarnished
in a thunderstruck.
Listen to her groan,
there's no one to comfort her.
In agony she weeps in silence.
Dehumanized she is. I
n chaos her house rebuilt.
Oh God, what a disastrous visitation.
Weep no more mama africa
b.cos in thine vision seethe
thou thy children in a multitude
of clouds pouring down rivers of joy.
