Man Of Heart Poem by Allen Liebenberg

Man Of Heart

What is wrong with my ever thinking heart?
That from emotion and feeling it can not part?
Any human coming and going from my life
Stab through my heart a sentimental knife.

Every soul worth knowing is near
In my heart and my mind I keep them dear
Every human and living thing
Make my heart a cheerful melody sing.

My eyes get wet and my heart gets blue
When I see what the world to people do
The world is cruel and life is not fair
But with the heartbreak and sorrow we must bare

I am a man of heart and tears without shame
Do not think of me as weak or lame
For I will one day prove you all wrong
When out of pride you drag loved ones by their hair along
