Many Do Dream Of Fame Poem by Francis Duggan

Many Do Dream Of Fame

In the Spring of their lives many do dream of fame
That millions of people would know of them by name
But few day dreams like all dreams do seldom come true
Though fame is a thing that so many pursue.

Still it is a nice thing to dream of renown
To visualize yourself as the toast of the town
The pride of your clan and your stature does grow
You are the one everyone wishes to know.

To dream of better things does keep us in hope
And helps us from sliding on further down the despair slope
Just to keep on surviving we do need some dream
Just as a small boost to our waning self esteem.

Of the praises of the wealthy and famous we sing
And that many do dream of fame is quite a healthy thing
To be wealthy and famous or a superstar of sports or football
The need to be loved and remembered it is in us all.
