Mare Acerbum (Sea Of Grief) Poem by Lauren Kapusta

Mare Acerbum (Sea Of Grief)

Be the waters in all the oceans your tears?
Whom are you and where are you bound?
O, poor creature, why so icy?
Has the sea swallowed your heart and,
Stole it so that you cannot find it?
Over ocean waves, you see ocean waves.
It's all you see everyday, repetition.
Lunacy, heart-break, desolation,
What is it that you feel?
She made you a wretch, damned and,
Cursed by God Himself.
Angels and earth laugh at you.
The abominable depths laugh like,
A blue dismal evil beast.
You see a tiny crystal drip and you,
Became as angry as the thing that,
Owns you so.
Everyday, you wonder what it was,
Meant to be like, to have true joy.
Tiny crystals were the only things,
You felt within you.
Sea-demon, you fell for a lie.
Now you must pay and weep.
Yet against the mare acerbum that,
You rule, you know there's still something.
But now, your tears fill the oceans.
It shall be so until the thing you pray,
So fervently for happens.
Mare acerbum, the only thing you have.
