Marge Viney Poem by Francis Duggan

Marge Viney

Kind hearted Marge Viney is not feeling well of late
Her health is not good and she has put on some weight
Though only in her mid forties one now her would not know
From the lean and fit young looking woman she was five years ago.

For to keep herself lean and keep the kilos down
She used to do exercises and jog in the Town
But poor health on her it has taken it's toll
Some things in life do seem beyond our control.

A person who used to work hard for her pay
She had to quit her job she sits at home all day
She feels sad and bored with nothing to do
And nothing in her life to look forward to.

One in her mid forties an ageing divorcee
Up to five years ago few looked as well as she
Her son in his early twenties lives elsewhere and him she seldom see
Her poor health is the cause of her poverty.

A very nice person to talk to or meet
Before work in the morning she jogged in the Street
But poor health on her it has taken it's toll
And some things in life are beyond our control.
