Marital Convolution, Greatest Proof Of Love, Pretzel-Ing Yourself For Love Poem by Don Nguyen

Marital Convolution, Greatest Proof Of Love, Pretzel-Ing Yourself For Love

Greatest proof of love is to die for the one you love.
Die to yourself, no argument, no pride, who wins, who has lost, whose fault, who is right, who wrong,
Look after the interest of your partner,
Whom you had once promised to love and to hold,
Don’t tear each other apart but hug and kiss each other; play around like children you once were.
Meditate on the word ‘convolution” for a while;
That is how one’s heart can be described when her spouse tears her inside out
Or twists it with his sharp tongue, physical violence, or bitter betrayal.
Practice heroism in dying to yourself
Before killing each other,
Be one with other, your life partner.
Don’t say “I don’t know you”
Or making her to say to you, “You scare me.”
Behold your wife with a kind heart, warm smile, gentle touch,
And caressing thoughts before you enter that door.
Wife, do the same to your husband from the other side of that door.
Greet each other with loving and Christ peace.
Only so your marriage and your family, your children will have peace on earth, will experience a touch of heavenly court.
What the greatest glory souls can give God when they honor Him by honoring his children
By loving one another and behold them, the children of the same Father God.
Don’t dwell on this brief life
But keep your eyes on the eternal meeting with one another and with God.
Think of the souls of your children whom you should offer the best of life
Faith, hope, and love are three most important called theological virtues in teaching of Faith.
The very faith, hope, and love should reign in one’s household as well
In which spouses always feel safe and confident in one another’s love
And full hope and security for their future and the future of their children.
After all a family is a domestic church of Christ.
Make peace and simplicity rule in your family’s living
Don’t complicate it by materialism and other interests besides the business of love.

Spouse of the Lord, the same is applied to your relationship with God
Don’t treat him like a stranger
Don’t ask him at the door of your heart with question “Who are you? ”
The bouquet that your soul greets him with should be a bundle of freshly cut flowers,
Not the wilting drooping neglected ones reflecting the state of your souls.
Adore him with your tender caress and secret intimate thought that only known by you and him,
The thought which can bring tears to your eyes and warmth to your heart.
He gives you a free will to receive him or reject him,
He waits to be discovered and be welcomed into your home and your heart.
Find out his heart desire to guess who he is.
May God bless your marriage as he does mine.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poem Notes: I wrote this based on one of my bad memories in which one of my love’s one day opened her door, saw me, she said, “You have scared me with your knock; I don’t know you.” Her cold greeting pierced my heart, but at that moment I was kind of glad because of it, I thought I could begin a healing process, so I felt relieved. Walking home that day from work, I felt so good that I could enjoy the sun rays for the first time for two weeks straight of taking on a new job and knowing her to top it off. She pulled that trick that day as a sweet revenge because I did the same to her, one day right after we felt in love, I told her that I was homeless man and that scared her to death; she was so frightened that she dropped me that very day feeling so good because she thought she could get on with her life, the care-free life she enjoyed before we met. Loving me had become a burden. Later, I made the most terrible mistake of my life, I told her my true identity, I was royal; and now she suffers even more in loving me.
