There's a comfort in the morning
Light on
Kettle
Toaster
Out with the mug
Sugar
Butter
Tea bag
Spoon
Splutter butter
And drool.....
Swoon
As I twist that spoon
Enchanted by black tea colour change
Milk
Must be added for correct shade
Of my preferred range
Then I go to walk away
But
There's something I've forgotten
You either love it or hate it
Marmite
And I do so love it
Spread as thick as chocolate
Bitter jarring taste
Ta dah!
I think
I've finally got it
I'm a marmitologist
As I just cannot resist
It's bitter jar in taste
(Walks away munching)
Nice food spread I gather. We don't find it in our area. Nice eulogy to food item that people like.
It's lovely to see a light-hearted eulogy to everyday food and drink.

Great poem, nd sort of really catches the staccato rhythm of a morning, love it. BUT I HATE Marmite! ! !
