Marriage In 21st Century Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Who dictates marriage in today's era-
is it heart full of rosy romance
or a 3000 years old spider web, that is, caste system?

They followed their heart.
They were cornered by the society.
They faced brutal attack...
The man died.
The woman took shelter of law
to unmask her parents and relatives.
She was in her hubby's house
playing dice with destiny.

Though all are equal in the eye of God,
the society created God as well as discrimination
to establish 'ruler and ruled' policy.
Though discrimination sounds like silence of graveyard,
it gets destroyed by a candle light.
