Marriage Is Not Magic
Marriage is not magic
To do by sleight of hand
Or by tricking the eyes
By waving a wand
Or by mesmerizing
Or by hypnotizing
For, when the lights
And smoke, are gone,
And reality speaks on
In days or nights,
The charm is lost,
And there is no ghost
Or angels to haunt or tread
As stark-naked life unfolds
with ticking of time
