Mask Poem by Simon Cowell

Mask

Everyone has a mask.
They cover who they really are.
Hiding what they feel inside.
But, masks are a good thing right?
'Superheroes' wear masks, and they're good.
So is a mask a good or a bad thing?
A mask is frightening in many ways,
You are hiding your 'true-self' from someone.
They like your shell, your mask, not you.
Then you take your mask off, and they think twice.
You feel down... out... dead... The mask has betrayed you.
But it hasn't, you have betrayed yourself.
So take off the mask.

Drop it.
Burn it.
Show yourself.

Good advice dear Simon! Taking the damned thing off, is risky but wearing it too long, shapes our faces. We lose our true identity, and if we can't be loved for who we really are, we can't be loved. Great little write. There is a typo on line 3. Smiling at you Tai, all that you see, is all that you get
