Master Mind Poem by Rob Knetsch

Master of the forest, ruler of the trees
with full control of the leaves, branches
caretaker of the roots, supplier of soil
the contractor of rain and sun and wind

The boss of all the many little creatures
drillsergeant of all ants, so many of them
aircontroller of all those animals that fly
swiminstructor for all those that must swim

Leader of mankind, of all colors and kinds
speaker of all languages, listener to all voices
teacher, mother, father, comforter, shoulder
the decider who assigns us our personal goal

Mind control while grey as matter, small in size
so much power and control yet so delicate, so
vulnerable, therefore always in state of full alert
applying all its control for its full time defense
