May We Stumble Poem by Tyler Chambers

May We Stumble

Rating: 5.0

The whole concept of morality is decaying.
Before our very eyes, it slips away; one ideal at a time.
How much longer will our conscience give way to trends and fashion?
At what point, and at what cost will we stop seeking the acceptance of those that do not even see clearly?

I'm willing to bet that it will only get worse.
We'll continue to 'progress' and 'evolve' until the answer is forgotten.
Without knowing it, we're plotting our own demise.
Living lives that are laced with a paper-thin coat of glamor,
we sink closer and closer to six feet under.
Shunning our purest at heart, while glorifying-... idolizing those with questionable character.

Our hearts do continue to beat on, but only to the rythym of a song that we were never intended to play.
Our only hope is to stumble across the truth and recognize it as the only option.

May we stumble.
