Maybe Poem by Keifer Johnson

Maybe

Maybe,
I’ll live
Maybe,
I’ll die
Maybe,
I’ll not even bother to try.

Maybe,
I’ll drink
Maybe,
I’ll smoke
Maybe,
I’ll grab that pipe for a toke.

Maybe,
I’ll sleep
Maybe,
I’ll dream
Maybe,
I’ll wake to be redeemed.

Maybe,
I’ll win
Maybe,
I’ll fail
Maybe,
I’ll hammer my coffin’s last nail.

Maybe can’t say what I feel,
I need something much more real.
Maybe you’ll love me, maybe you’ll leave me
Maybe you’ll stay, or maybe deceive me.

Maybe just won’t work for me
Because maybe could mean anything.
Maybe, baby, can’t you see.
Maybe just won’t work for me.
