Maybe It's Love Poem by Tammi Celina Lyons

Maybe It's Love

Show me words that I never knew

The way you used to say 'I love you.'

Someday I will blow away

You'll know how easy it was to

Be slipped through your fingers.

Now I am going to be gone.

Forgive me,

I just wanted to be gone and cry.

The ways you made me feel so wanted.

That's all I ever wanted.

Maybe it's love.

Maybe it's not.

What I ever wanted was a kiss,

To feel like a worthy bliss.

Maybe it was worth the fight.

I'm captured through your sight.

Here and now,

Was it good for you?

I know it was good for me.

All I ever wanted was to know

That you loved me so.

And now,

I just want to give up

And walk away.

There's nothing much more to say.

(Just to turn away.)

Maybe it's love.

Maybe it's not.

What I ever wanted was a kiss,

To feel like a worthy bliss.

Maybe it was worth the fight.

I'm captured through your sight.

It was easy for me

To keep on going.

Just to see you

Flying off my wings.

(Flying off of my wings.)

Jumping high off the ground

The ways you couldn't see

Is the way I couldn't look at you.

Fly away with me

I know where we will be.

Just jump off and fly.

That's all I realized.

Show me love I never knew,

Like I always had for you.

Smile for me and I'll know it's true.

Maybe it's love.

Maybe it's not.

What I ever wanted was a kiss,

To feel like a worthy bliss.

Maybe it was worth the fight.

I'm captured through your sight.
