Maybe We Would Have Acted Different (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

Maybe We Would Have Acted Different (Cavatina)

Maybe we would have acted different
if we did know
quite how short our time together would be;
nothing could slow
the hands of destiny, the claims of death,
that made you go
to a place where cannot as yet follow,
as the greedy cold earth did you swallow.
