Me Poem by lara solis

Me

Rating: 3.5

She sat there alone on her stool, breathing slowly and chewing on her loaf of bread patiently. Her mind was messy and yet blank, she felt that her ears were filled all the way up with water and if she was speaking you would hear her voice quiver. Tears ran down her cheeks, but she gave no notice that she felt them or cared about them. She felt little, and vulnerable and scared, she was alone in the whole universe and didn't know what to do. Her eyes, now red and swollen, rolled in their sockets as all pain and anguish left her. She lay there on the floor next to her unfinished bread waiting for a sign that never came. Hours, minutes, days passed until she got up and sat on her stool. The peace touched her soul like a mother's hand and she died.
