This morning when I woke
and got out of bed
as I opened up my eyes
I saw another new dawn come
I thanked the day for blessings ahead
that I knew would surely rise
I softly said good morning Creator
may you always bless everyone
not just a few or some
in a cheerful voice I spoke
as right away I thought of me and you
and said this good morning prayer
to always keep us free from care
and safe in all that we do
that peace inside our heart
we may never forget
on this brand new start
I thought of the happiness we could share
that each day would hold in store
I prayed this all for me and you
because none deserves it more
I felt so warm inside my heart was all aglow
for I know that the Great Spirit
heard my prayers for me and you
because He hears them all you know
