Meandor’s Plea Poem by Cameron Gallant

Meandor’s Plea

Some say that I’m no good at all
Like I’m useless
Others say they are the best
Like I’m useless

If only I could have some faith
Say I’m not useless
But all I find when I try to shine
Is put downs

Now help me now
Give me a smile
You’ll be the friend I get once in a while

Then stick with me
Give me a chance
I’ll show you different, than seen at first glance

Help me to learn that
I’m meaningful
That I can do something
That I am not nothing

Help me to know that
I can’t give up
Cause doing such action
Is not what I want

I can do something
Apart from what they say
I can do something
Even after I’ve failed

Help me to lift up
Please help me to be
What I have dreamt of
Let my heart breathe
