Meaningless Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Meaningless

Rating: 5.0

Your words, they mean nothing
Inscribed on the canvas of love
They were erased into oblivion
By the hands of mortal dust
Through the passage of time
They travelled on hostile winds
Floating downwards, dissolving
Into the air of nothingness.

This poem almost scares me: As poets words are our tools, our allies, our link to all the others worlds - If we can't trust them, if they dissolve because they're false, dishonest, manipulative, if people have corrupted them, we poets are the first to suffer. // But my fear doesn't last, because the words are used honestly and wisely in many poems here at Poemhunter - yours and mine included! !

I have learned to observe what people do, not what they say.
