Meanings

Meanings change
with people.

You say
'It's not you
It's me'
But I know
It's me
Exactly.

You say
'let's forget
what happened'
But I know
It's me
you're forgetting.

You say
'Don't go on
changing'
But I know
It's this hint
of change
I'm missing.

But I say
If I can't act
as me
You'll know
I'm seeing you
differently.

Or so it seems.
Do people change
with what they
mean?

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
