Memories From Above Poem by Richie Duprey

Memories From Above

The beauty that emitted from you will never be lost,
Although, I want you back beside me no matter what the cost.
No matter how much I cry, no matter how much I am sad,
I know that I had an amazing friend and for that I am so glad.

We all have to leave at some point in our lives,
The reality of it all is that nobody really dies.
Your memory lives on in the heart of those who cared,
You'll make us laugh and smile at all the special moments that we shared.

I know you're happy and safe where ever you are,
Even though at times it feels like you are afar.
You'd want us to keep strong even though this is hard,
To continue our lives while you keep guard.

I just want you to know how much we really care,
We all just want to see you and your beautiful, golden hair.
I know someday we'll meet again,
But for now, I'm afraid - it'll just be through paper and pen.

You gave me great advice once, all about how to be truly free.
I'm taking you're advice and holding on to it desperately.
It's amazing how conversations from months ago suddenly spring to mind,
I think you knew I was in need of it, and sprung it for me to find.

You're a person I could be myself around and that's something I love,
But I know you're up there now, keeping us safe from above.
I'm so glad you came in to my life, you've certainly changed it for the better.
I must go now my dear, for this is the end of my letter.

Rest in Peace, Yasmin.
