Memories Unwanted Poem by isabel grossbart

Memories Unwanted

Rating: 5.0

these memories burn
like the tip of a cigaret
holding me captive
deep in my mind
tucked away
far away
from the human eye
ill never forget
the way you declared i was a mistake
you saw me tears
you heard my cries
it gave you strength
to take my life
how your words
cut me down
split me open
left me laying in the street
the blood so red
the sky so black
nothing says i love you
like being stabbed in the back
love of my life
is what you used to be
now i wonder what i was thinking
i fear love
i fear joy
i let you play me
like i was your toy
all i want to do is forget
these memories that burn hot
in my head
