Memories Written In Time: When Poetry Wrote Me Poem by Terence George Craddock

Memories Written In Time: When Poetry Wrote Me

Rating: 5.0

when I was at primary school
years later at high school
who would have thought
I would live to become a poet
to wrote across so many years
to write across so many decades
a few early poems were written
defining twenty-one early twenties

with instant poetic intensity
there was no slow development
no thought to rhyme to talent
words refused to remain within
without thought wrote themselves
poetry wrote me defining destiny

defining personalized philosophy
an individual meaning of life reality
I chose not the words words chose me

Snowpowder, State Of 20th Century Man,
Fleeting Thought, Ode To The Poet,
''of reflections'', Visions From A Dream State,
Beauty Revealed, Perspective Stand,
The Secret Of The Grail, Etching In Glass,
Not Today, Tribute, Ad Astra,
a dozen poems became a hundred
in time a few thousand poems written

poems written silently in secret
no one knew I was quiet time writing
poems contemplation written left

poems written in a love of poetry
now at this time over 10,600 poems
surviving witness to poetic thought
