Memory Poem by McKenzie Kubicek

Memory

Rating: 4.5

Mommy and daddy were love at first sight
He was her knight in shining amour
Then something happened to daddy
He started to yell at mommy,
'You are never good enough! '
'I am going to leave you! '
Screams floated through the air vents
Mommy and daddy didn't know that I listened.
Mommy and daddy said they loved each other.
But it wasn’t the truth
I could hear the rage in their voices
when they talked

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Love is a spiritual experience that affects us profoundly, it's also whimsical and temperamental, coming unannounced and may leave without warning if not carefully nurtured at all times to maintain its bliss. A well articulated poem nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing Kubicek.
