I'm stranded on memory lane
Guess walking down it just wasn't enough
Looking at how far I've come
Who'd have know it would've been this tough?
Who'd have seen the hurricane coming
That destroyed all of our plans?
Who knew lighting would strike our plane
Causing it to crash land?
Reality woke me up oh so cruelly
And it won't let me hit snooze on my alarm
And I can't go back to blissful ignorance
Because those days are long gone
As my memories over-flood the streets
They feel almost close enough to touch
And I reach out my hands to grasp them
Because memories just aren't enough
But memories is all that they are
And no matter how close they feel
I know they're as distant as the stars
So I find my way off memory lane
And I think it's best I don't go back
Because even though I want those memories to last
Maybe it's best I lock the gates to memory lane
And leave them where they belong
In the past

Love this part: As my memories over-flood the streets They feel almost close enough to touch And I reach out my hands to grasp them Because memories just aren't enough Because it's the truth.
