Mending A Broken Heart

Time stops and the world seems so silent
Memories began to whisper in my ears
And tears began to fall, as the wind makes its final blows
Like a faceless ghost, hunts my dream every night
My heart beats faster every time you appear
Shaking, afraid and full of fears
I once fall into the deepest pit
Kneeling down and almost breathless
I pretend to be strong, when I feel weaker
I tried to fight, knowing I could not win
My heart is tired and weary
Truly, it is insane to believe in dreams
For I know when I wake up it will never happen
But it would be much insane to believe in nothing
When it will mend to love someone again?
Perhaps, the answer can only be found within…

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

My wife died, June 3,2015. I was in a pit of despair, the deepest pit. I began my journey out of this pit by writing a poem, Death Did Us Part. I also read Mending A Broken Heart. It's been over 31 months now. Is my heart fully mended? I'm unsure. But I feel I'm on my way, empowered by precious memories. And writing more poems helps.
