Metaphors Poem by Zariah AnjaiyaWinder

Metaphors

The grey clouds are still looming
Although the sun is shining bright,
It’s daytime but it’s quiet
Just as if it were night.

It’s like your house which is empty
Despite the people living inside.

You tell the truth without conviction
Never realising that you were right.
You start to speak but then you falter
You always give up without a fight.

It’s like the world has been thrown into darkness
And you’re the only light.

The waves have chucked you over board
But you’re still holding tight.
You act as if you’re near the end
But there’s no end in sight.

It’s like you’re buried in a dark hole
And you’re face is pale as white.

It’s like no one noticed you were there,
Although you tried with all your might.
