Metempsychosis Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Metempsychosis

The frozen heart of mine
overflowed through my eyes melting.
Flooded rivers of woes and agony
rolled down flooding my cheeks,
some distributaries
filtered into the corners of my lips
and glistened my parched lips
with a soulful sparkling smile
and my face purely sterling
glowed with a new hope
like the newly rising sun
after a tempest.
And flew out a prayer of gratitude
from my tranquil heart to my Lord
for cleansing me of my dirt;
infusing in me optimism unshakable
and transforming me,
a sapling of sheltered garden,
to a sturdy oak of the Alpine cliff.
