Meter And Miles Poem by Annie Ali

Meter And Miles

A troop of valorous men
Care not of a hideous barrage
As life disgraces death
By embracing it with courage
So does a soul encompasses life
As weak cage takes the strong foul
Emerges earnestly from the rocky plane
A gilded sphinx from the inevitable fall
Reckless desire burnt into ashes
Adds grace in maneuvering benedictions
Staggeringly Humiliated beings
Capable to be subjects of divine predictions
Inventers of meters and miles
When talks about measures and standard
Can never surpass an inch on
The dauntless rationale of those slandered
Imagine your world without souls
Travelled vigorously on unknown paths
What would have left for David to slain with slingshot
If not Goliath
