Midnight Howl Poem by Roland Houston

Midnight Howl

What is that noise,
a call so loud,
echoes through the valley,
surrounds us all around.
A noise so clear so crisp,
it makes my hair stand on end,
giving me goosebumps as well.
I hear it only during the full moon,
always at night,
such a heavenly chorus,
a beautiful and wondrous sound.
I stop and see,
shadows not far from me,
they raise their heads high,
opening their mouths,
and what do i hear?
It's that amazing sound,
the sound of the wild,
the sound of a wolfs midnight howl...
