Standstill Poem by Roland Houston

Standstill

My life is at a standstill,
and I don't know why,
Nothing seems to be going my way,
My tank is empty,
I wish it was filled.
No one wants to hire me,
It is driving me insane.
Depression is beginning to settle in,
and my stress is borderline red.
I don't know how much more of this I can take,
I keep waiting, hoping, praying things will pick up.
My faith is slowly slipping away.
Why won't anyone call,
Why won't oppurtunities come my way?
Nobody seems to care if I fail,
Hell is against me,
Heaven still hasn't shown me the way.
I'm slowly beginning to question my faith.
I'm tired of sitting around to wait,
I need a job to come my way,
Perhaps moving to Florida was a huge mistake,
Maybe thats why my life is at a standstill today...
