Midnight Traces Poem by David Harris

Midnight Traces

Rating: 5.0

Before the dawn steals, the midnight traces
to replace them with scarlet hues
souls of unleashed fury roam
in the shadows of discontent
with their harrowing screams
against the bondage that keeps them there.

Sunrise breaks the spells of midnight
forcing its demons to retreat
back to whence they came
releasing the souls to silent sleep,
to rest in their slumber
before the midnight traces fall again.
