Mind Battles Poem by Olamide Olalekan

Mind Battles

I fear of the future,
that i may die tomorrow,
Never achieve my dreams,
Never find true love,
Never father kids,
Never make Paradise.

I fear so much i wish,
at birth i died,
No! my mum would cry,
i was an angel, never was human
Free of the burden of earth,
hate, love, hypocrisy of humans.

I fear my boat wont float on the sea,
My oil will sink in water,
My fire wont burn the wax,
at twilight my sun wont set,
my genitals wont surge,
that i may drown in sand.

i fear,
that i will stumble upon myself,
that i am who i am gonna be,
that i am who i think i am not,
that am what i thought i couldn't.

i fear no more,
for my fears,
i now know.
