Mind, The End Poem by Steve Santerre

Mind, The End

Eternity lasts forever at the cusp of infinity
To reach beyond the limit, but before the end
From the depths of imagination, to the apex of the universe
And then, when the forces of nature no longer apply,
Our words come to life and ideas take form

The soul released from its cage, free at last,
Senses and sights meet in light
Granted all means meet at the same end
Where peace exists forever,
Where gravity bends and curves on itself
Finding a new home, not like the last
Opposite from reality, the other side…

The mind has itself a mind of its own
A place deep down, an escape,
Where nothing is impossible
Where everything can be
Existing, and being, living and dying,
But although infinite in space, limited by time
Not everything lasts forever after all
