Mindscape Poem by Ajit Das

Mindscape

Rating: 5.0

I dream of designing a mindscape,
painting it with the colours
of love, affection, fraternity.
The brush glides over their contours,
but gets stuck, clogged
at hatred, violence, cruelty.
I try to erase them with a cutter;
they hit back ferociously.
I dip the brush in the colours
of kindness, tolerance, forgiveness.
It portrays on the canvas
a deeply concerned humane face
wavering between hope and despair.

The poem starts out light, carefree and optimistic and then the challenges of reality set in clogged, still the attempt to make it work is met by resistance as they hit back ferociously. To end only with patience and kindness wavering between hope and despair..............wonderful 10

Amazingly portrayed thoughts. A very noble project becomes marred by conflicting notes and emotions. This is a reflection of our own life and society. I would like to quote some lines: of love, affection, fraternity. f kindness, tolerance, forgiveness. wavering between hope and despair. at hatred, violence, cruelty.
