Mirror, Mirror
On the wall
Who is the fairest one of all?
You my Queen
Are fairest of all
And this was the response the Magic Mirror
Gave the Queen
Every time she posed this question
But soon the Queen's daughter reached age seven
And she
With snow-white skin
Blood-red lips
And ebony-black hair
Was beautiful beyond measure
Mirror, Mirror
On the wall
Who is the fairest one of all?
You my Queen
Are fair, ‘tis true
But Snow White
Is fairer still
Than you
This answer angered the Queen's shallow heart
And she was turned green with envy
And as Snow White grew older
She only grew more beautiful
Finally the Queen called her faithful huntsman to her side
And ordered him to murder the princess
And bring back her lungs and liver
As proof of the deed
He took the princess into the forest
But her beauty and kindness
Stayed his hand
And his knife found instead
A boar whose liver and lungs
The Queen received and ate
And again the Queen asked
Mirror, Mirror
On the wall
Who is the fairest one of all?
You my Queen
Are fair, ‘tis true.
But Snow White
Beyond the seven mountains
Is fairer still
Than you
And anger filled the Queen once more
Snow White fled through the woods
Over stones and thorns
As animals chased her
And the forest came alive with ominous noises
But then she came upon a little house
The table set for seven
Seven beds against the wall
But the house was empty and
Snow White fell asleep in the seventh bed
The dwarves soon returned from the mines
To find the most beautiful girl asleep
In their beds
They allowed her to stay
For they wished to protect her
They cautioned her against letting in strangers
For they knew that the Queen still wanted her
The next day they went off to work
And Snow White stayed home
An old peddler woman came to her door
And thinking she was harmless
Snow White let her in
But she was the Queen in disguise
She sold Snow White a corset
And laced it up for her
She laced it so tight that
The poor girl couldn't breath
And cackling the Queen departed
The dwarves found her and cut open the laces
And Snow White gasped and breathed
Once more
Mirror, Mirror
On the wall
Who is the fairest one of all?
My Queen, you
Are fair ‘tis true
But Snow White
With the seven dwarves
Is one thousand times
Fairer than you
So the Queen devised a new plan to kill her daughter
Snow White was alone again
While the dwarves were at the mine
And a new lady came past selling combs
The comb was so beautiful that Snow White
Agreed to let the woman comb her hair with it
No sooner had the tines touched her hair
Than the poison killed her
And down she fell
Once More
Mirror, Mirror
On the Wall
Who is the fairest one of all?
You, my Queen
Are fair, ‘tis true
But Snow White
Is fairer still than you
And this time her anger was unequivocal
For the dwarves found her and pulled the comb from her ebony hair
And she came back to life
One more time a peddler came to Snow White's door
She held out the reddest fullest apple
And Snow White could not resist
And the moment her teeth pierced the perfect skin
She fell dead upon the floor
Mirror, Mirror
On the wall
Who is the fairest of them all?
You my Queen
Are fairest of them all
And the Queen was satisfied
The dwarves fell upon Snow White
They tried to save her but to no avail
So they built a coffin of glass
And her beauty emanated like a glow in the forest
She lay as though sleeping for a long, long time
Until by chance
A prince rode by and
Taken by her beauty
He lifted her from the coffin
The apple fell from her mouth and she awoke
To everyone's amazement
She and the prince were married
And because she was so kind
Snow White invited her wicked mother to the wedding
Mirror, Mirror
On the Wall
Who is the fairest of them all?
You my Queen
Are fair, ‘tis true
But the young Queen
Is fairer far than you
The Queen seethed and decided to attend this wedding
To see her competitor
When she arrived
The angry dwarves captured her and forced her to dance
In shoes made of iron, heated on the coals
And she danced until she fell to ashes
