Misfed Poem by Ima Ryma

Misfed

'Obese, ' I hear the teachers say
At school, when they think I can't hear
I am hungry most ev'ry day.
Sometimes I'm only fed with fear.
All my family can afford
Is packaged food cuz it is cheap,
Like eating moutains of cardboard.
And more and more, the pounds do heap.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are not
Around a lot for me to eat.
It's just a meal of bad I got.
I'm stuck being a malnutreat.

Mind and spirit, not just body.
Hunger really messes with me.
