Misogynist Poem by Kitty Marie Lucas

Misogynist

Misogynist
you think you're pretty clever, don't you?
no law can touch you now.
no marks are left upon my skin,
but scratches coat the heart within.
it doesn't matter, Misogynist;
you got away with such misprision.

now all my plans are cracked and wait;
gathering dust, anticipate,
bound to some island of noble regard,
where i might walk upon those lonely shards.

irenic not irascible, never one to hate,
i haven't the strength to ignore your wake.
you must be pleased as i must pend;
my innocence i lent in hand.

child was frightened, so it grew cold;
though purity wasn't all you stole.

you don't ever stop to wonder, do you?
you couldn't care less for me now.
the oldest child to ever live
didn't even fight; played dead and let you win.
it doesn't matter, Misogynist,
you're just the reason i can't exist.
