Mispronunciation
A word-sleuth of a poet said:
'You say 'Hi-' not'Hiss-' in 'Hysteranthus',
you do three things silly:
you disrespect the Greek connect
with flowers pre-dating leaves;
you associate the plant
with a robbery spectacular;
and you eventually cause a Hyster
to be renamed an Easter Lily.'

I suspect the Easter Lily was once a Hysteranthus, Hyster for short, meaning a plant in which the flower comes before the leaves.
