Mistakes To Make Not Meant Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Mistakes To Make Not Meant

I use to lament with regret,
Decisions made wished to change.
Until I began to notice,
My growth in accepting...
Lessons from what I did to do done.
To know accusing anyone,
For decisions I had made to excuse...
Did nothing for my credibility.
Or prove I had the capability,
To admit no one else...
Should be held accountable.
For actions I immediately denied.
Then tried to blame someone else,
For being responsible.
Today?
I do not lament to then regret,
What I intend and mean to do.
Left with no one to misunderstand.
Or confuse what I choose to do,
As a mistake to have made not meant!

Those who claim to make mistakes not meant,
Only pretend when convenient...
To have been strickend with amnesia.
And a selective memory,
From which to choose,
What it is they will remember.
And what to pick to quickly forget.
We all have done it.
Although some will admit,
A learning from this to avoid.
With a choosing of truth kept pursued.
Regardless of who,
Would rather not be annoyed by the effort!
